Bald Cypress Planting on the Riverwalk

January 12, 2018

With a grant from the Cape Fear Garden Club and the help of volunteers and Connolly Tree Preservation, we were able to plant 17 Bald Cypress along the Riverwalk in downtown Wilmington. When matured, the trees will provide shade and beauty to the area.

Fall 2017

The Wilmington Tree Commission, along with the ACFT, planted 12 trees at Greenfield Lake and Wade Park as part of their 12 12 12 traditional planting.

Rankin Terrace and Jervay Tree Planting

October 20, 2017

In partnership with the City of Wilmington and through a TD Tree Days Grant, the ACFT and volunteers planted 50 hardwood canopy trees in the plazas at Rankin Terrace and Jervay Communities.

Saving the Ogden Oak

Fall 2017

The ACFT was involved in advocating for the relocation of the Ogden Oak due to the new Publix shopping center on North Market Street.

Houston Moore Tree Planting

Spring 2017

The ACFT, in partnership with the City of Wilmington and volunteers, planted 50 hardwood canopy trees under the TD Bank's TD Green Streets Grant at the Houston Moore Community.

Fringe Tree Planting with Girl Scouts

Winter 2016

The ACFT and Girl Scouts planted 3 fringe trees at Halyburton Park.

Bald Cypress Planting at the Pilot House

Summer 2016

The ACFT planted 3 Bald Cypress near a fresh water outflow along the Cape Fear River at the Pilot House.
