Upcoming Events

Did you know that tree planting season in Wilmington is October to February (and not the spring)?

Our mild winter months give newly planted trees a 2 to 3 month head start in establishing roots so they can better survive our hot summers!

That said, we'll have more tree planting and give-away events in the fall. Check back in late summer when we'll start setting dates.

Whew! After our busy planting season finished, we had a lot of events in March and April celebrating NC Arbor Day, Earth Day, and National Arbor Day.

Now we are kicking off Tree Care season! If you'd like to help us mulch and water, please send us an email. We are forming our care teams right now!

Trees need care during the critical years after planting. If you're into watering, mulching, and watering, you can help out by becoming a Tree StewardWe'll be holding another class in late summer or early fall 2024. Learn more!

Even if you can't make an event, you can help out by becoming a Tree Ambassador!

In order to plant all these trees, we need to go door-to-door, espouse the benefits of trees, and get residents' permission to plant in front of their homes. Learn more!
