About Us
The Alliance for Cape Fear Trees (ACFT) is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization rooted in Wilmington, NC, with a mission to preserve, protect, and plant trees to enhance the quality of life for all in the Lower Cape Fear region.
Events
From community tree plantings to free tree distributions, our events connect people to trees and to each other. Whether you’re a seasoned Tree Steward or a curious first-time volunteer, you’ll find hands-on opportunities to help grow a greener, healthier, and more equitable Wilmington.
There are so many ways you can support the mission of the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees and help us preserve, protect, and plant trees across the Cape Fear region. Whether you donate, volunteer, become a Tree Steward, or simply spread the word, your involvement makes a lasting impact on our urban canopy.

Advocacy
At the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees, we do more than plant and give away trees—we actively work to protect, preserve, and expand Wilmington’s urban canopy. Our advocacy ensures trees and green infrastructure remain a priority in local and state policies, helping safeguard our natural environment for generations to come.
