Tree Stewards Program

The NC Urban Forest Council and NC State Extension have partnered to develop the North Carolina Volunteer Tree Steward Program, which is a statewide program to train citizen volunteers on basic tree care management in order to assist local cities and towns in managing their publicy owned trees. Citizens participate in a 6-week training course learning about tree biology and how trees grow, how to properly plant trees, water trees, and early tree care practices.

Interested in becoming a Tree Steward? We'll likely be holding another training session during the summer/fall of 2024. Please let us know if you have questions or would like to me added to our class waiting/notification list.
